Is a Ford Focus SE 2007 a good, reliable car? Thinking of buying one?
I'm 18, currently looking to buy a first car. My limit is $6,500. Anyway, I came across a 2007 Ford Focus SE, and Wanted to know if it's generally a good car. It only has 75,000 miles which isn't TOO bad. It's $5,800 and it's being sold by a trusted local dealer. Checked the Carfax, it technically has had 2 previous owners (really only 1, the original owner was the father and he gave it to his daughter). I ll definitely go and check it out in person, but wanted to see the opinions of other people
Added (1). Also, I know it's not some amazing luxury car, it's simple, and that's all I want for my first car anyway. I want a car that will get me safely from point a to point b, and won't break down on me. I'm not looking for the "coolest" car, it just has to be reliable
They're good cars and excellent first cars, but $5,800 is Way too much.
Yes it's fairly reliable. I know many people who own this car who's have had few issues with it. My dad still owns his 2002 model and its ran fine over the last 15 years he's owned it. My coworker has a 2007 hatchback and she's driven it from Maryland to Minnesota many times in recent years. Also hers is a 5speed manual so she's had to replace the clutch that's about it. I own the 2014 model and mine has also been great!
Consumer reports says to avoid the 2012-2014 focus. But I think prior years had good reviews.

Should be a decent reliable vehicle but remember all vehicles can have minor issues.
- Thinking about buying this car, but don't know anything about vehicles I was looking at this Ford Focus SES 2009 with about 123,000 miles. Priced around 7,999. Kbb says it's worth about 6,500 so there's some wiggle room in price. The Carfax shows that its battery has been replaced 2-3 times, and it's been sold at dealer auctions a few times as well. I was just wondering if the dealer auction is a bad thing? Or if that's an unreasonable amount of times the battery has gone bad? Thanks for your help in advance! Clueless about vehicles!

- Do you think buying a 2000 ford focus with 161,000 miles a good car purchase? For 1,000? I'm wondering if anyone will recommend, a 2000 ford focuse with 161,000 mileage as my first car, I recently got my drivers permit I want a car to practice my driving skills and I stubbled into the 2000 ford focus.
- Is Ford a good, reliable car manufacturer? I remember growing up in the 90s, I would always hear my parents say to stay away from US car manufacturers and buy Japanese cars like Honda and Toyota. Is Ford a lot better now? I'm specifically looking at model years 2010-2014. Anything compact, fuel efficient, and affordable. Something like a Fiesta or a Focus.
