Both are fine for first cars. Parts are widely available and cheap.
Mileage? In general, I'd go with a Civic.
Id take the Honda unless the focus is several grand cheaper. Honda= better resale & reliability.
The Civic for sure, unless it was owned by some lead foot kid who thrashed it.
- Do you think the Brand New Ford ranger needs more engine options? I think the 2.3 Ecoboost is very capable, but in many cases, stronger engines distinguish more premium (or) sportier trims from the Base trim. Do you feel that higher priced trims need a V6 to compete against others in the segment?
