Ford mustang vs honda civic?

Assuming that I maintain both cars equally, which one do you guys think will last the longest? I want a long lasting car.

Can only report that I have had 3 Mustangs 2 Ford Five Hundreds and a Taurus in the last 10 years: none has ever had any kind of repair outside of routine, normal maintenance. None has gone back to the dealer for anything. I'm careful about oil changes, air filters, oil filters & fuel filters etc. I run them up to 80,000 - 120,000 miles: have never had a brake job, shock absorbers or such, water pumps or AC problems.

I know that Hondas are great cars but have never had one. I do know from friends that they seem to need new suspension struts earlier than some cars… And some have had paint and paint failures and some rust issues.

All my Fords had automatic transmission… The Mustangs were V8s and the others small V6s (which are still larger/beefier engines than Hondas)… One thing I like about Fords is that they have timing chains - not rubber belts - so that is one less thing to worry about as the miles accumulate.

ADDED: Haha… Honda started making cars in 1963… The Mustang came out for 1964 1/2. Whens the last time you saw a '63 Honda? Know anyone restoring a '68 Honda? Anyone paying $100,000 for a '69?

The Honda will probably last longer and need fewer repairs but the Mustang is a Mustang. No explanation should be needed there.

I put 250,000+ miles on a Mustang. I was pretty good about oil changes and used synthetic.

The old mustangs were decently good -new ones are garbage cans.
Honda easily takes them off the line. I'm talking about the blue Civics (not the early days roadsters).Roadsters = Model A and not too many of them are in demand. The roadsters are in antique showrooms.

Get real, You will smash, crash and dash it before your second oil change. They are fun to drive. That is, if you do not roll it first.

Civics have traditionally been one of the most reliabe cars on the road. As long as you don't play pretend race car driver, they should easily last 300,000 miles.

Mustangs, not known for lasting.

Definitely the Honda. My daughter has one and it just keeps on going. Very dependable car.

To answer your question as asked a Honda would be better. The problem is any Toyota is far more dependable than any Honda.
