Can I get my 2014 Ford Focus' transmission fixed for free?

I have a used 2014 Ford Focus. I just bought it a couple weeks ago with 66,509 miles on it. It shutters between first and second gear. The clutch bands need to be replaced. TSB for it is 16-0109. Someone told me that with that TSB, I can get my transmission fixed for free. Is that true?

Possibly. I have a 2015 (purchased brand new in 2016) which had to have the dual-clutch replaced because of the issues with those things. Just take it to a Ford garage and ask them. They would at least be able to tell you if that's a possibility.

That depends on what the TSB says. I owned a Honda Civic, teh tranny went bad at 58,000 miles. The tSB extended the 36,000 mile warranty to 60,000. You need to read it.

No bands in this transmission. Call a dealer and ask them. You might want to google this tsb that will tell you if you fall under a dealer recall

No. TSBs mean nothing except hey we saw a issue, this is how to fix it… Contact Ford and ask what recalls are active on the vehicle as some had extended warranty for the shutter, others don't… Contact Ford at 800-392-3673

  • How much does it cost to get rust fixed? I have a '99 Ford Taurus and it has pretty severe rust on the rear wheel wells and rocker panels. The back half of my drivers side rocker panel has even fallen off! Someone told me they might have to cut out the rusted pieces and weld in new metal, but i was wondering about how much this might cost?
  • Is it ok to drive a car with a transmission fluid leak for a week before getting fixed? I have a 2007 ford ranger with only 38k miles on it, recenntly I have been having minor delays when shifting into drive from reverse before it catches and I actually move forward. So i checked my transmission fluid which seems to be pretty low a good amount below the cross hatched area. So I added more fluid and then saw some leak onto the garage floor within 30mins. I have not seen any leak before, could i still drive it before i get it fixed next week without causing more damage?
  • Can you get a 2015 ford mustang and Chevy camaro in automatic transmission instead of manual transmission? Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2015 ford mustang or Chevy camaro. Both of the cars come in manual transmission! Is it possible to get it in automatic transmission instead? Can I just ask the dealer (dealership) to give me the car with automatic transmission or do I have to change it myself?
  • Do I need to get my EGR tube fixed? I have a 2002 Ford Focus and I took it to the dealer for several issues. One main issue was the amount of noise my car was making which they found to be due to a broken EGR tube. They said this was not a "safety issue" though and that it didn't need fixed now. How long can I go without fixing this? Does it cause any other problems other than the loud noise?
