Do I need to get my EGR tube fixed?
I have a 2002 Ford Focus and I took it to the dealer for several issues. One main issue was the amount of noise my car was making which they found to be due to a broken EGR tube. They said this was not a "safety issue" though and that it didn't need fixed now. How long can I go without fixing this? Does it cause any other problems other than the loud noise?
The EGR tube is a metal tube that feeds usable exhaust gas back to the combustion chamber. It is not a safety issue unless you are stuck in snow drift. It is noisy but also what they seemed to not tell you is it may make your car not perform right. It can lower your fuel economy, affect acceleration and make that annoying check engine light on your dash light up
Exhaust in the passenger cabin.

- How much does it cost to get rust fixed? I have a '99 Ford Taurus and it has pretty severe rust on the rear wheel wells and rocker panels. The back half of my drivers side rocker panel has even fallen off! Someone told me they might have to cut out the rusted pieces and weld in new metal, but i was wondering about how much this might cost?
