ATF type for 2008 ford focus?
Hi, I need to know what kind of ATF uses a 2008 ford focus. I don't have the owners manual because i bought the car in used condition. The other question is how many quarts of atf do I have to buy to change it? In the past I've been done this work with my old car so I know how to do it.
Info is on container. Amount required is available at parts store. Some experts suggest NOT to replace trans fluid. If trans. Fluid was changed following Fords maintenance schedule. Then its recommended. Its also recommended to use O.E.M. Fluid.

COUNTRY BOY does not read well or comp well either! HE has blocked COMMENTS< too! DO NOT TRUST ANYONE but FORD with your car, NOT EVEN YOURSELF! They have the RIGHT equipment, FLUID and other parts for job! CARS with a torque converter hold at least FOUR QUARTS of old bad fluid that MUST be flushed out and TRANS FLUID quality is ALSO A MUST! I use ONLY European grade fluids in All CARS! NO VALVOLINE PRODUCTS EVER or PRESTONE coolants either! Most FORD fluids are provided by CONOCO PHILLIPS< a GOOD refinery! GHO TO FORD and ASK for a REAL MANUAL or go to junk yards to find one for near FREE! DON OT TRUST the local oil change place either! If you drive to FORD DEALERSHIP the write up person will TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED! You are FOOLISH if you do NOT use proper FORD RATED and APPROVED FLUID with FORD spec numbers on it! All MODERN CARS REQUIRE FLUSHING except DUAL CLUTCH and CVT trannies! FLUID TYPE is CRITICAL! It is NOT the 70;'s any more! All THINGS are SPECIALIZED and there are NO UNIVERSAL OILS or FLUIDS of any kind any more! If you see another car like yours ANYWHERE< stop and ask to read their manual! DO NOT GET DUPED into using UNIVERSAL FLUIDS from ANYONE! This is why you should trust ONLY FORD with the job! They give a WARRANTY along with it! USE ONLY MOBIL ONE 0W-30 oil in the engine as well! You get NO sludge buildup and BEST POWER and MILEAGE! Or use 0w-20 if called for! NO VALVOLINE EVER for OIL lor BYE NOW! COUNTRY BOY did not bother to fully read QUESTION! I wonder if he STILL believes that FORD BOSS enggines need new VALVE SPRINGS every year or other nonsense! Can't reach him by comments column1
The correct fluid type is listed in the specifications pages of the glove compartment manual.
- What type of full synthetic oil to put in 2005 ford focus? I have a 2005 ford focus ST zx4 and need to add oil, this is the first time adding oil since I bought the car. All I know is that the previous owner used full synthetic. I have to add just about a quarter of oil until an oil change in a few weeks. I have heard that full synthetic 5w-30 or 5w-40 is good but no lower than 5w-30 or I can take the chance of blowing up my car… Any thoughts on this?
- My 2008 2 door ford focus has started to sputter and shake.what could the problem be? At first it started shaking then a couple days later, it started to sputter. I want to take it in but scared they will charge me a fortune on other things that aren't really the problem. Any advice?
- Is there a recall on 2008 ford focus? I have trouble with the ignition, it will not start in cold weather, and all other times the switch key has to be pushed in while in the start position. This is a 2008 ford focus, with 36k niles
- Is a 2008 ford focus with 102,000 miles worth the purchase? I'm looking into used cars to buy for my first car and I found a used 2008 ford focus that I like with about 102000 miles on it. I've heard ford cars don't last that long, so is it a waste to buy a ford with that many miles? I'm going to be using it to drive too and from college, so mostly highway miles.
