Is a 2008 ford focus with 102,000 miles worth the purchase?
I'm looking into used cars to buy for my first car and I found a used 2008 ford focus that I like with about 102000 miles on it. I've heard ford cars don't last that long, so is it a waste to buy a ford with that many miles? I'm going to be using it to drive too and from college, so mostly highway miles.
My feeling is that anything with 100,000 miles + is definitely not worth the expense.
Who told you Ford cars don't last long? They last just about as long as any other brand of small compact car. With modern cars today 102,000 miles is not too many miles. Cars today, if well maintained, can easily go 200,000 miles with no major repairs. Notice I said well maintained. That means following the maintenance schedule as outlined in your owner's manual. The 2008 Ford Focus is a very reliable car with no problem areas at all. Have the car inspected by a trusted mechanic and if he gives it the green light do not hesitate to purchase it just because it has 102,000 miles on the Odometer. If it was well taken care of you should get many more miles before any major repairs.
Focus is supposedly a decent car. Depends on its condition and the price you are paying.
You would be better of buying a car such as a vw since they are built to last or a Volvo is a good call, but also it depends how much you are willing to spend my friend
7 year old Ford Focus with 102,000 miles and in good condition is worth between $2,000 - $3,000. The worst part is it is probably an automatic and is going to need some maintenance unless the previous owned has recently done it. Timing belt and hoses will need replaced and transmission flushed. If done as a mechanics shop tack on about $400 to what you're paying for it.
- Is it worth it to buy a ford ranger with 387,000 miles? My neighbor is selling his 1999 ford ranger 5 speed manual for 5300$. I think it's a decent truck for its Age besides a few dents and scrapes it runs and looks fine, and it has high mileage but it has a good engine and transmiton from what he tells me. However is it worth what he wants for it
- I have a 97 Ford Ranger, 4.0, in good shape, 102,000 miles and it doesn't start as well as I think it should. It cranks strong, and has new? Motorcraft plugs and fuel filter. I've cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body and the truck runs fine and there's no misfire. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I think the truck should start when I turn the key instead of having to crank 2-3 times. I've also installed a new IAC valve. Any suggestions on how to get the truck to start better?
- How much is a 2000 ford ranger with 170,000 miles and 3 inch body lift worth? It is a stepside, extended cab. It has a few probs… Window on drivers side doesn't work… Electric windows… And the tires are kinda bald… It also has a slight oil leak somewhere… It always leaves little dots of oil when it is parked. It does burn any oil at all though. What would it be worth you think?
- Do you think buying a 2000 ford focus with 161,000 miles a good car purchase? For 1,000? I'm wondering if anyone will recommend, a 2000 ford focuse with 161,000 mileage as my first car, I recently got my drivers permit I want a car to practice my driving skills and I stubbled into the 2000 ford focus.
