2004 Ford Focus loud noise while driving and engine coolant leak. Suggestions as to what is wrong and possible cost for repairs? - 1
Added (1). Not even at 100k miles yet and I have been experiencing a loud winding/ rumbling nose coming from what sounds like the middle/ back of car. Sounds like a plane taking off. Also been dealing with engine coolant like as well. Loud noise is probably back left bearing because winding stops when taking left turns. Suggestions of what could be wrong and approx. Cost?
Multiple issues. Loud noise -- exhaust system or timing issue. Coolant leak -- most common issues are need to replace one or more hoses and/or gasket has failed between water pump and engine block. Less likely -- radiator itself has a leak [likely in a seam]
Look under the hood. If you can fix the obvious problem, do. If not, take it to a mechanic.
- My 99 ford Taurus has a milky brown fluid in the coolant tank. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong? The engine oil is fresh, with no milky color. It is an amber brown. the tranny fluid is pink/red my car will start, however it will not leave park. The gear shift will move but the car will not leave park. someone said it could be my head gasket however the car NEVER ran hot nor did it have any white smoke. ill take any suggestions or help offered.
- 2000 Ford Taurus Popping noise while driving? Have a popping noise while driving, typically i would expect something simple like ball joints, tie rods, cv axle etc. But its at an odd time, its randomly while driving straight, no bumps or anything. It kind of sounds like something is hitting the underside of the car like a chunk of mud. Any ideas? Ball joint are new and the axles don't pop or make noises when turning. Someone suggested the engine mount on passenger side. This is the DOHC variation.
- Just pulled front brakes of 96 ford ranger xl and now scraping noise while driving? Pulled front brakes off my truck to see how wore out they were because they were squeeling put them back on perfectly no hassle and now when I drive I hear a horrible scraping noise on right front passenger side but I stop on a dime and my brakes don't get hot or smell I'm so confused please help?
- My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
