2000 Ford Taurus Popping noise while driving?

Have a popping noise while driving, typically i would expect something simple like ball joints, tie rods, cv axle etc. But its at an odd time, its randomly while driving straight, no bumps or anything. It kind of sounds like something is hitting the underside of the car like a chunk of mud. Any ideas? Ball joint are new and the axles don't pop or make noises when turning. Someone suggested the engine mount on passenger side. This is the DOHC variation.

Bad shocks.

Check plastic parts like air dams and fender wells being loose.

Are the stabilizer bar links bad?
I've seen stabilizer bar bushings make a knocking noise too which sounds like a BJ.

Struts can make a popping noise too. Try pushing up and down on the front of you car to see if you can hear the noise and isolate where it's coming from. That's how I found a bad strut on my wife's car. It does sound like you might have a stabilizer issue though (as the mechanic has already stated). I would probably inspect the stabilizer and its bushings. Bad bushings are usually easy to spot. Check out some youtube videos on how to use a pry bar to check your front end components.
