Would it be ridiculous for a man in his mid-40s to drive a Ford Fiesta?

I've usually been driving large cars so far(Mercedes 300 SE, Ford Falcon, BMW 525), but I now live in the UK, and I keep seeing those little Ford Fiestas of more recent model years here. Most recently, they even come with Aston Martin style grilles. I have to say I quite like these little things. And it would seem like a pretty harmless indulgence, too, as they are probably cheap as chips to run. My only worry: Will my friends and colleagues laugh at me if I turn up with one of those? I'm a 220-lbs, 6ft guy with beard and glasses. There are plenty of stereotypes on big guys with small cars. Or are there?

Haha if you like it get! If you like anything enough it can be cool and you can be a trend setter with the right attitude!
Honestly doesn't matter what people may or might not think, who gives a ****? Drive that ford fiesta baby!

Why would it be ridiculous?

If that is what you like, go for it. I'm 6'2" and I've always driven compact cars. I just happen to like my cars small and nimble.

Nothing wrong with wanting to drive one. They are fun little zippy cars but they are small. To me I'm 5'5 and I felt it was just my size but I had to think about a future and family because I didn't want to buy another for at least 5 years. I got the Focus. It's not super big but enough to hold 4 adults reasonably. I suggest you drive one see how well you like it. My neighbor who is in her 60s used to drive fairly big cars including a Mustang recently. She got a Fiesta because of mpg and it's easier for her teen granddaughter to drive as well.

If you try one you will probably love it.
They drive very well. The fuel consumption is good and the performance and handling are excellent.
My wife is in love with hers and I never get a chance to borrow it.

Unless you need the space no reason at all not to drive one.

If you had one and drove it to work, no one is going to make remarks or judge you by it. In fact, the co-workers that use public transportation may be jealous and even ask for a ride to work and back!

Not in the UK no… Cars like that are very common and popular.

Mainly because space for parking is a premium in the cities and villages in the UK.

Yes, it's a girl's car.

Its more attractive to see a man in his mid 40s drive a ford fiesta vs a sports car. It means your not in your midlife crises and girls like that.

Your good as long as it's not a pt cruiser convertible

Makes you appear oddly, is that what the birds like?
I think not.
But if it makes you smile, that really matters the most.
