03 ford focus SPI single headcam. The temp. Gauge does not stay mid of the gauge?
It is always little bit closer to cold side than warm side even after driving 40 miles. No engine light is on. Any idea?
As long as it is not flopping around, all is good. The gauge or sender or both could be off a little. There's NOTHING that says the pointer has to be straight up. You don't always run with the speedometer pointer pointing straight up.
As long as the gauge is making it into the "Normal" band on the gauge, you're fine. On my Mustang the temp gauge rarely makes it half way up on the gauge even in the middle of July. During winter it rarely makes it 25% up the gauge.
There's nothing wrong with your car
- What could cause my car to not stay running? I have a 99 ford contour. 4cylinder 2.0L. It cranks but will not stay running unless hitting the gas pedal. No check engine light. New MAF and Camshaft sensors. Got the car in feb and had new plugs and oil change. Could it be a clogged cat?
- Why does my ford taurus stay in first gear too long? 2000 Ford Taurus ses when I start it up the doors don't lock, the speedometer doesn't work and it stays in first gear for a while and then seemingly randomly( hot cold running a long time or just started) it'll eventually kick into the next gear the doors will lock and the speedometer will work but sometimes it takes a really long time
- Just had new heads and gaskets installed on Ford Ranger 4.0, along with thermostat and radiator cap. After reaching operating temp, upper? Radiator hose swells to full capacity as if it can't handle more pressure. After engine cools off, hose returns to normal size. Should this be happening?
- After driving Ford Ranger, high mileage, 10 miles and at normal operating temp, I park overnight on level concrete floor. I check oil level? Next day before starting and when I pull dipstick out, oil level is at full mark. I wipe the dipstick clean and re-insert and check oil level again, the oil level is down about 1/8th inch or so. I check it once more and get same reading. Is the crankcase full or do I need to add some oil? Just to be clear, since this is an older Ranger with over 170,000 miles, I use high mileage oil and I check the oil level regularly. It doesn't use oil after just 10 miles of driving.
