Should I go through my insurance?
I was parallel parking and slightly bumped into a Ford Truck. He said I caused this crack but I don't believe I did. I know that the situation isn't in my favor so I'm wondering what an estimate cost would be for this. The guy would prefer not to go through with the insurance because he said it's unnecessary and costly. I'm not sure if this is the best situation. If we do go through with the insurance I'm at risk of being liable because I'm not listed as the driver in my Ford Fiesta so I'm unsure on what is better for me. 
If you're not listed as the driver then you have no insurance cover.

Pay up, or tell the other driver to take a hike if there's no proof that you hit his car.

Sue him. Even though the hit wasn't as hard; the weight of his car slammed towards yours causing the root of your car to crack.
You don't need to be listed as a driver you just need permission. If you aren't the owner of the car it's not up to you to make an insurance claim
People who have insurance but won't use it are among the most foolish of people. The guy you hit and who doesn't want to go through insurance may be doing it for a reason. That reason may be to con you. What will you do if after you pay him, he comes back and says that hidden damage was found and now he wants more of your money? What will you do if later he decides that he or his passenger(s) suffered a "whiplash" injury?

I drive a 2007 Ford Taurus 105, xxx miles, and I went around a corner and I completely lost steering in my car mid turn. This is the first time this has ever happened to my car.
