Ford fiesta speedometer not working?

I cleaned the idle air valve as it was causing problems, as soon as I fixed this I drove off to see if it was working, which it was, but I noticed my milage disappeared and the speedometer needle wasn't moving

Negative consequences of owning two cars simultaneously? (UK)?

I'm wondering with a large amount of disposable income, what the the disadvantages of owning two cars at the same time.
The two cars I was looking at was a Ford Fiesta ST and a BMW 330D.
They are both second hand vehicles with 40-60k miles on them (as I really dislike depreciation on vehicles when bought new).
I understand you'll have to insure two vehicles and pay tax etc.
Both cars would cost roughly £25,000 combined to buy.

Affording a car at 17 years old - How to do it?

So I live in the UK and passed my test just this month. I'm desperate to get a car but don't know if it is possible. My Mum does not drive so I can't just put insurance on a parents car before you mention it.

My Dad wants to buy me a car for about £750 and I'm just worried at that price it will break down and the insurance quote will be more than the actual car. I know that no matter what I have to spend a heap on insurance being 17. I make roughly £175 a month but am thinking of asking for more hours at work. I've seen that a lot of cars come with good deals on insurance such as Corsa you only pay £99 or a Fiesta where Ford pays £3500 on insurance but this is only on new cars.

So my question is what is the best thing to do? Do I buy a new car and pay a heap for free insurance or go with my Dad's advice and buy a cheap car and just hope for the best?

Is a subcompact car, such as a Hyundai Accent or Ford Fiesta (or similar) good for long road trips?

I've been widowed for 2 years. I'm a small person and I'm looking to trade in my current midsize car, which I shared with my late husband. He was a bit large so he would never fit in a subcompact car. I do not have any children, and nobody else lives with me. I rarely carry passengers. I take long road trips a couple times a year (such as driving up to 6 hours). Will these little cars make it on the interstate highway?

Dealership pressuring me to get new car?

I want a a used car, preferably about 3-4 years old. I was looking at a Ford Fiesta or some other hatchback which was a 2013 with 34,000 miles on it. I get very frustrated because the dealers are not showing me what I like. For example I was initially looking for a car that was about 5-7k. I just want something that's reliable, good on gas, and the ac works. I don't trade my car in every 3-4 yrs and I usually put about 2500 down. I told them what I wanted via the phone but when I went into the dealership it was a different story. All of the cars I was interested they kept steering me towards a 2016. I only drive about 4-5k miles per year so a car with some miles don't bother me. Are all dealers like this? When one guys found that he was not making progress he brought in the general manager who was trying to sweeten the deal. Now I have excellent credit but I just don't want to deal with this.

When I called the service guy to tell him I seen a car online at his dealership that I was interested in he was saying how someone had already put money on the car and it is sold. Is this typical?
