What would be causing oil like substance in my water resivoir of my Ford F-150?
I have an oily substance in my water resivoir. What would be causing that?
That's the coolant reservoir… NOT a water reservoir. It's common to get a little "oily" residue in the reservoir. It may be from slight head gasket leakage or even old antifreeze sludge. I'd have the cooling system flushed and new antifreeze put in. If the motor does not overheat or run bad I'd just drive it after flushing the system.
Guesses would be a blown head gasket or leaky valve seals since they're the most common place on an engine where the coolant and any lubricant would be able to mix.
Explain in more detail please.

- Red oil substance leaking from Ford Ka? I have a manual 2001 ford Ka petrol, only today i noticed that when stopping/ pulling away the car started to judder and seem as if it was going to stall. I also noticed that it was very difficult to put into gear. When i parked it at home i noticed that there was a sizable puddle of reddish oil like liquid on the floor. Any idea where its coming from? And how to fix it?
- Why does water build up in water reservoir? Car is ford focus sedan 2003 1.6engine So we changed the water reservoir recently and now water builds up in the reservoir.
- I would like to know if 04-08 Ford F-150 rear suspension parts would fit on my 1998 Ford F-150? I'm building a prerunner and have already received a long travel kit for the front of my 1998 Ford F-150, but I'm having trouble finding rear suspension parts for it. Honestly I'm perfectly fine with just a pair of Fox 2.5 Factory piggybacks, but I can only find some for the 04-08 Ford F-150 and I just wanted to know if they would bolt onto my 1998 Ford F-150.
