I have a 2010 Ford Mustang and every time it rains it sounds like the water is accumulating in the door. Is there a drain or plug that I need to attend to?
Yes there are drains in the bottom of the door. One near the front and one near the rear…
Look at the bottom of the door. You should see a couple of small holes that are intentionally left open to drain water. If they are plugged with dirt or debris, they could allow water to build up inside the door and that water will eventually cause the bottom of the doors to rust through. I suggest using a bit of stiff wire to poke up inside those holes to clear the blockage and allow the water to drain out. You may have to do this several times.
- Why do some companies like Ford have a 5year warranty and others like Hyundai have a 10year warranty? Does the company with the longer warranty trust in their product longer? Or they know that the owner will have to do a ton of repairs and without a back up no one would ever buy them?
- I think I blew a fuse in my 2002 Taurus. I can't find the fuse and want to know if it sounds like i did? So when changing a Puddle Light in my 2002 Ford Taurus I hit the wire that connected the lighting and lighting case to my mirror. Something sparked and my interior lighting, glove box lighting, and mirror lighting is not working. Is this something as simple as a fuse?
- Have 98 Ford Ranger, 4.0, 171,000 miles, auto trans with limited slip. I've owned truck since new and have changed trans fluid every 30-35 000 miles and have never towed anything. The majority of the 171,000 miles are interstate driving. The truck shifts fine with no jerking or slippage. What I do get is thump(s) in rear end when I come to a stop, as gears are downshifting. Do I need a new transmission? Any suggestions? I suppose it's a "clunk" I hear and feel when I come to a stop, not a thump.
- If you have enough money, can you have a new classic car built? Like can I pay to have ford build me a 1970 Mustang? Lets say I don't want to buy an old car and restore it, I want a 1970 but straight off the factory line. Can you have a car built with the old style frame, engine, trans, etc?
