What parts are needed to do an engine tune up on a 2005 ford F150 Lariat with the 5.4 triton 4x4?
I bought a 2005 ford F150 and has 144,000 miles on it. It is running really rough, so i want to do a tune up on this. What is needed to do a full tune up on it, i mean down to the very part. Any advice for the best way to do it as well?
8 spark plugs. You'll want to get the redesigned one-piece plugs for the 3 valve 5.4L. You could throw in a new air filter, new fuel filter, oil change, and flush the radiator. But for a tune up these days, all you really do is replace the spark plugs. Keep in mind if it's on the original plugs at 144k miles, it's a near certainty that at least one or two will break when you try to remove them. That's even if you follow the prescribed methodology.

- What does I tune up consist of for a 2005 Ford Mustang GT? I own a 2005 Ford Mustang GT and I never got any service records from the car lot it was bought from or any service records from previous owners so now I'm looking at possibly having to do a tune up on my car and I need to know what a tune up for my car consists of. I want to know what is changed and done in a tune up. I already changed the oil in it and all that's left is the tune up. Serious answers only please. Provide links if possible.
- I have a 2005 Ford F1-50 5.4 liter Triton motor 4wd? When engaging transmission into gear a whining noise is heard that sounds like a worn-out hydraulic pump. The sound of the whining increases as the RPMs increase when pulling a hill or an A grade the whining will also get louder. The whining noise does not exist in park or neutral only when engaged in forward gears and reverse. The level of transmission fluid is perfect and was changed 23,000 miles ago. The overall mileage is 80,000 and has been well maintained since it was bought new by me.
