I have a 2005 Ford F1-50 5.4 liter Triton motor 4wd?

When engaging transmission into gear a whining noise is heard that sounds like a worn-out hydraulic pump. The sound of the whining increases as the RPMs increase when pulling a hill or an A grade the whining will also get louder. The whining noise does not exist in park or neutral only when engaged in forward gears and reverse. The level of transmission fluid is perfect and was changed 23,000 miles ago. The overall mileage is 80,000 and has been well maintained since it was bought new by me.

Torque converter is toast. Replace transmission.

I have the same year F150 with a whining noise and it turn out to be the rear end pinion gear bearing.
