How many MPG does a 79 Ford F150 Ranger Lariat get?
I'm getting a 79 Ford Ranger with a 460 in it, it is rwd. I'm curious to know what MPG they get.
Geez. Maybe 15 if you are lucky?
Not good.
We had several F series trucks with the 460 and we got 10-11 empty and 8-9 towing on fwy… About 10 around town, but metro areas with "rush hour stop and go" 6-7… The best I remember was 12 and the worst 5.5…
Realistically, around 8 or 9 around town maybe 11 on the highway. These trucks didn't have overdrive.
- I need to put a different engine in my 1982 Ford Ranger Lariat and I don't know what to put in it? It's the biggest engine you could get at the time in those trucks, so it is a v8, I just don't know the exact size. Since the engine is pretty much dead that's in it I was wondering if almost any v8 could go in it's place or if it has any specific engine that has to go it in. Also any good suggestion for a good engine would be great.
- Does my MPG seem low or normal in my Ford Ranger? I own a 2005 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 V6 4x4 Okay, yes I know it is a truck so I do not expect fantastic fuel mileage, but I was calculating my MPG with this app I have on my phone, and the average is anywhere between 13.2 and 13.6. The truck is a manual, so to help with the MPG, I usually shift around 2500-3000, and when I'm just driving I usually have it between 1500 and 2000. Does anything seem wrong here or is it normal?
- What parts are needed to do an engine tune up on a 2005 ford F150 Lariat with the 5.4 triton 4x4? I bought a 2005 ford F150 and has 144,000 miles on it. It is running really rough, so i want to do a tune up on this. What is needed to do a full tune up on it, i mean down to the very part. Any advice for the best way to do it as well?
