Truck violently shaking?

I recently started getting a check engine light for misfires so I went to check the spark plugs and found one that was cracked in the ceramic part. After replacing it and starting the truck, it has been shaking violently and sounding like it wants to stall. I haven't tried to drive it anywhere due to that. What could be the problem. I'm not getting any codes yet, could a piece of ceramic from the plug have fallen into the cylinder causing this? I have a 2008 Ford F-150 5.4L V8. As far as I can tell I didn't do anything wrong. I'm really wanting to avoid going to a mechanic and have him charge me a fortune for random things

Clogged pie you may need to call the city to handle the digging

Check to make sure you have fitted the plug leads back in the right order as misplaced leads will cause this. Although I have no experience on a F-150 V8 I believe the firing order on this engine is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.
Hope this helps.

You replaced a Spark Plug and now it runs WORSE. Doesn't that tell you something? Remove the new plug and look at it and check the gap. OR replace it. Also make sure you didn't bump a Vacuum Line off it's fitting.

Did you set the correct spark plug gap? They often come out of the box with the incorrect spark gap because one plug type is often used on many different engines that have different gap settings. It's a common mistake to assume the gap set at the factory is the correct one.

Did you make sure all the spark plug leads were put back correctly? That's another common error.

A piece of ceramic couldn't have gotten inside the cylinder if the insulator was only cracked. If you broke the insulator when removing the plug and you weren't careful then maybe a piece fell down inside but it would only cause roughness if it was exactly the right size to get caught under an open intake or exhaust valve. The only way to check for that is with a bore scope.

  • Car shaking around 30mph? I have a 95 Ford Taurus, a couple of days ago the car started to vibrate kind of like going over rumble strips but it would only last between 30-35mph. Any ideas what this could be?
  • Car shaking and rattling? I have a 2000 Ford Taurus, it was driving fine until to day. The car just started shaking rattling, kinda sound ed like a lawn mower. Also seems to lose power at times and has trouble shifting gears. (It's an automatic). Of anyone can help that'd be great. Could it be the transmission it perhaps bad motor mounts?

  • Why is my car shaking when idle? Here's the back story. Car is a 2001 Ford Focus hatchback. Check engine light recently went on for a EGR censor. As of yesterday my cruise control will not work, and when I went to turn my car on today it is making a chugging noise and vibrating. When you gas, it stops vibrating however as you slow down it starts again. What are possible things wrong with the car? (And yes, it has plenty of gas just filled up two days ago.)
