Car shaking and rattling?
I have a 2000 Ford Taurus, it was driving fine until to day. The car just started shaking rattling, kinda sound ed like a lawn mower. Also seems to lose power at times and has trouble shifting gears. (It's an automatic). Of anyone can help that'd be great. Could it be the transmission it perhaps bad motor mounts?
I'm not really car savvy, but would that cause the engine to shake a rattle like that, it all started while driving down the road.
More likely that you lost a coil (They fire the spark plugs) That would give you a really rough idle and sound like it's missing. Having a bad coil and the car running rough can keep the vacuum from building, which is required for the trans to shift.
Sounds like a misfire
- Why is my engine shaking during idle at stops and park? I got a ford 1999 taurus SE with 100,000 miles on it. I just changed the spark plugs and wireset out and it got even worse. I was thinking the IAC might of just gone bad but before I go get one I wanted to ask if there was anything else I could test before buying more new stuff for it.
- Car shaking around 30mph? I have a 95 Ford Taurus, a couple of days ago the car started to vibrate kind of like going over rumble strips but it would only last between 30-35mph. Any ideas what this could be?
- There's a rattling noise on my car when pressed on the clutch? When I press my clutch there's a rattling noise but when I take my foot off or put my hand break up it stops What could this be? Why did this happen? And how much will it cost to fix? I have a 2008 plate ford KA
- Why is my car shaking when idle? Here's the back story. Car is a 2001 Ford Focus hatchback. Check engine light recently went on for a EGR censor. As of yesterday my cruise control will not work, and when I went to turn my car on today it is making a chugging noise and vibrating. When you gas, it stops vibrating however as you slow down it starts again. What are possible things wrong with the car? (And yes, it has plenty of gas just filled up two days ago.)
