Is it possible to replicate my own Super Car?

I want to build a 2017 Ford GT. I know the engine can be easily acquire because it's a V6 that most Ford F-150 use.

Then could i replicate each piece of the Ford GT then build it?

Added (1). Ah that's cool to hear. Yeah i think i could. It's sure a better deal then shelling out 500,000$ for the real one. Lol

Added (2). Um. 17 years is not in my list… I'm going for 2 - 3 months…

Sure IF! You had a shop w/all the materials needed + the $10000 or so for the cost

Hi so at the outset your ar a great disadvantage. Ford engines usually tend to be just 8 cylinders. Where most of the Super cars tend to be V12 engines or the W12 as used in rolls royce and bugatti. The ferrari is also a V12. So your technology is well behind the times sunshine. Now electric is the way to go.

It can be done. It only took this guy 17 years to build a pretty good Lamborghini Countach replica in his basement: http://jalopnik.com/5954486/the-man-who-spent-17-years-building-the-ultimate-lamborghini-replica-in-his-basement-wants-to-sell-it

If you have to ask this question I can 100% guarantee that you are not capable of building a supercar in 2-3 months.

It is possible. However buying spares always ends up costing more. Car makers tend to make the profits on spares and not much on actual full cars. This is due to competition for selling new cars. Spares are a different ball park. On average it costs around 3 to 4 times as much to build entirely form spares as from new outright.
better off saving up for a second hand one. Or possibly look into buying a crashed one but NOT written off! Then we can take time and buy spares .repair as we go along.

To "replicate" a super car demands have an original to know exactly how every part was made. Few if any of us have the money it would take to buy a current Ford GT to take apart just to see how it was put together and take dimensions of all the parts needed to build one. It is called reverse engineering.
To build a car that performs like a super car is not a big problem. But it takes two to three years research and another five to ten years to build it.
Such a project for a car company takes an average of three years from conception to production with a complete engineering staff and specialist in fabrication. Part of the design time is over compromises for cost and production- something a maker of a single model does not have to worry about.
It would be cheaper to just buy a Ford GT-40 copy and put in a newer powertrain. While not a new GT, still expensive but worth it.

Ford engines usually tend to be just 8 cylinders.

You will need alot of money and a lot longer than 2-3 months.

" it's a V6 that most Ford F-150 use. "

Nope, the Gen II H.O. Ecoboost V6 that the Ford GT uses is unique to the GT. It's not the same as the one that used in the F-150. Remember the 2005-2006 Ford GT? It used a 5.4L Supercharged V8, The 1999-2003 Lightning pickup also used a 5.4L Supercharged GT. But beyond the displacement and the supercharger, the engine has nothing else in common. Same principle applies to the 2017 GT and the current F-150.

Then we get into the carbon fiber body and chassis, and pushrod suspension. It's not a car you can build in your garage, and if you could, you'd be money ahead to just buy one. But if you had the necessary skillset to actually do this, you'd already know this and would be asking this question in the first place.

Sure if your rich

  • Why doesn't car manufacturers provide their own car insurance? I always ask myself this question. Why doesn't the Ford, Chevrolet, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Nissan, and more provide their own car insurance? It's doesn't make a lot of sense to leave the insurance duties to companies that knows little to nothing about cars. Plus, Insurance would be cheaper. Sick and tired of getting RIP off by the Geico, and State farms of the world. What do you people think?
  • Where do i start building my own Replica super cars? I have a list. I want the Lamborghini Murcielago SV Lamborghini Aventador SV Shelby GT350R Ford GT I don't want to buy kits. I want to MAKE the kits. How do i start? (I sculpt as a hobby) So i know how to sculpt. I've made several small sized sculpted cars. What i want to know is what type of material is used to make the body? I would prefer something cheap as hell. What type of material do those sellers make their kits of? Is it Carbon Fiber?
  • Why does my cold air intake make my car super slow? I bought a cold air intake for my 2015 ford taurus put it on and lost power alot of power. I didn't use the normal air intake tubing i stayed with the tubing that comes in the car and put a filter at the end and reconnected the one sensor. Now my friend did this to his car and it gave him more power i don't know why mine loses power
  • Does my car have a place for me to plug in my phone and listen to my own music? I have a light blue 2005 Ford Taurus. I want to listen to my own music and not the stuff on the radio, but I don't think that there's a place to plug in my phone. I have a cd player but not a tape player (is that what it's called? I'm not sure.) Does anyone know if this type of car has a place to plug in my phone or if there's another way to do it?
