Yep it can be done but make sure the engine is cold or you risk ripping the treads out of the head.

You'll spend a good chunk of your day… Use only the Motorcraft plugs, they're engineered specifically for the issues known… Proper sealing to keep moisture out of the spark plug wells and plated with an anti-seize compound…

Work slowly, and use plenty of penetrating oil. If the plugs haven't been changed before, you may have trouble removing the old plugs without them breaking off. There's a special tool to remove the plug if it breaks off. You may want to invest in this tool http://www.amazon.com/...B00267PZUK

Check out u tube for how to change spark plugs. Often issue involve removing leads ( never pull on leads -use the boot around plug ceramic to pull off)
or plugs stuck in bores. Again U tube has helpful videos here. Tips etc
refitting new plugs is easy as long as we coat part of threads say one quarter of plug thread depth to apron half its circumference with and into seize compound e.g. Nickel based preferably to copper. This fills minuet gaps in thread on plug and cyl head to stop adhesion etc. Thus allowing easy removal in future.
do not over tighten.run down by hand until we feel it start to squash the collapsible seal/washer on the plug ( unless it has tapered seating only) use recommended plugs for engine. Use a torque wrench for final tightening or if not available? Its common to tighten approx one turn to two turns form the initial squash point ( where we feel resistance to turning as washer.seal bites onto cyl head) over tightening results in seized plugs and or stripped threads. Leaving too loose may result in a blowing plug and damaged threads. However plug do not generally need a great deal of torque.hand tighten light an oil filter.
