Different year, but procedure is the same. If you don't have a diagram of the belt now under the hood, you better draw a picture and take notes BEFORE you remove the old one.

Use a combination wrench to rotate the belt tensioner away from the belt, remove the old one by slipping it off the pulleys, install the new one by slipping it over the pulleys the same way the old one came off, and slowly lower the tensioner back onto the belt.

There's probably a belt routing diagram under the hood of your truck to show you which way it wraps around each pulley on the engine.

Make sure that the belt is fully seated onto pulleys with grooves.

You may have to experiment with the order you place the belt on the pulleys. It will be easier to get them onto some than others. If getting that last one on is difficult, try a different order.

  • New serpentine belt squeals? My dad replaced the serpentine belt on my car (07 Ford Fusion SEL) last weekend when I was home. I noticed my car makes grinding noises when I reverse it and a squealing/peeping noise when I turn now. Should I take it in and have a mechanic look at it? My car has never made that noise before, so it has to be from the new belt.
