How to check the transmission fluid on a manual 1987 Ford F150? - 1
Should be a pipe plug with a square head on the side of the tranny, half way up from the bottom. When you remove the drain plug, fluid should just seep out. If not, find out what weight lube to put in.
There's a pipe plug on side of trans remove it stick your finger in the hole if it touches the bottom of your finger its correct if not pump the correct GEAR OIL in it usually 85-90w so stick tip of finger it the side hole if fluid touches bottom of finger your good if not pump in until it just starts to run out the hole FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE HOLE don't overfill it then your done re install pipe plug tighten but don't over tighten it your DONE also its gear oil not trans fluid

Both of the cars come in manual transmission! Is it possible to get it in automatic transmission instead? Can I just ask the dealer (dealership) to give me the car with automatic transmission or do I have to change it myself?
