How should I fight my speeding tickets? (In GA)?
I'm a 17 year old male, and I drive a 6cyl 1996 Ford F-150 and it's a stick shift. The truck is original, and the tires are stock size. I was driving home one night on 441 and a County Sheriff deputy clocked me doing 90mph in a 55mph. Here's how I know I'm not exactly innocent, but definitely not guilty of what I was charged with (because I was still speeding, just no where near 90mph) my truck won't go 90mph on a good day. The speedo stops at 85mph, I was going uphill, in 5th gear, the truck was slap loaded full of ****, and I had almost no gas. I even had my Lawyer try to get the truck to 90mph, he was going downhill, with a small load, and a full tank and he got it to a top speed of 76mph. The next problem is, a month later, I got a 63 in a 45. This one I'm guilty of, and will probably plead guilty to. Because I'm under 18, it takes a total of 4 points in a period of 12 months to suspend my license for a minimum of 6 months. The first ticket (90mph) is a 6 point ticket on its own, and the second one (63mph) is a 2 point ticket. I have already taken two defensive driving courses. I need to know how I should plead for the 1st ticket. Should I plead nolo, or should I plead not guilty? I don't care about the fines, I just care about keeping my license. How can I keep my license? Side note: the second ticket was given by GSP, other than these two tickets, I have nothing on my record.
Your lawyer is the best person to talk to, not random strangers on a web site answer forum.
You state that you have a lawyer in the question. There's no reason for us to weigh in at all, as we're not experts, you're already paying someone to do that - get your money's worth.
I agree with the answerers who say that your lawyer is the last word in your defense.
Get your lawyer to get the officer to get the truck to 90MPH prove he was in error the ticket becomes invalid
Your truck should bmdo 90 though
My 1400cc Automatic will do 90.
Nothing you mentioned is a valid defense. The speedometer is not the limit of your speed, so the fact it only displays 85 is irrelevant. The level in your fuel tank does not effect speed. Your lawyer speeding won't help either, as there's no way to prove you did not modify the vehicle since the ticket.
You have a lawyer, and he should be familiar with the courts in your area. He is the best person to talk to.
You can't fight them. You're a serial law breaker.

I dunno… Clearly you are a danger to yourself and others. Perhaps some time not driving might help you acquire a bit of restraint and/or judgment.
You need to take defensive driving courses so you do not cause accidents and if you keep driving like this perhaps you should not be on the road. Hoping you have some compassion and care about others and stop following such a selfish course…
- WHICH CAR SHOULD WE LOOK INTO BUYING? We looking to buy a family car 5 door, we were thinking in the line of maybe a corsa or somethink like a citroen or maybe a ford cmax any idear as we never own any of these.
- Should their be federal limits on the money police can get from traffic tickets? In my small city- it seems like they are enriching themselves off minor traffic tickets. I've paid $600 so far this year alone and I'm not a purposefully reckless driver. I wonder if that's how they can afford their higher salaries (than the median where I live) and 2015 ford police cruisers (whereas most people here drive old cars).
- What speakers/subs should I get? I'm about to turn 16 and I'm wanting to get some speakers and a sub/s for my car. I'm not very educated with them. Which ones should I get? What brand is good? How many watts for the speaker and sub and amp? What brand would you recommend? They would most likely be going into a ford ranger if the type of vehicle matters.
- What RPM should my car idle while driving and what RPM should I shift? I have a 2003 Ford Mustang V6. 5 speed manual transmission. This is not the first manual car I've owned, but I'm curious. I never really look but I've read in some places that in order to save gas you should shift at 2 RPM before I used to shift at around 3-3.5 RPM. Also what's a good RPM my car should idle at while I'm in gear? Let's say I'm driving in 3rd gear. What's the ideal RPM to stay at before needing to shift.
