What RPM should my car idle while driving and what RPM should I shift?
I have a 2003 Ford Mustang V6. 5 speed manual transmission. This is not the first manual car I've owned, but I'm curious. I never really look but I've read in some places that in order to save gas you should shift at 2 RPM before I used to shift at around 3-3.5 RPM. Also what's a good RPM my car should idle at while I'm in gear? Let's say I'm driving in 3rd gear. What's the ideal RPM to stay at before needing to shift.
There's an emissions sticker under the hood. It tells you the exact idyl speed for your car
- What would cause my 2004 Ford E350 5.4L 8cyl to have 2,000 rpm at idle and in neutral? The van has 113,000 miles. Plugs changed at 100,000 miles. When started the rpms are at 2,000. Occasionally they will drop 100-200 rpm for 1-2 seconds then right back to 2,000 rpm. While driving there's no problem as long as the van is in drive. Once in a great while after driving around for a while it will be normal rpm when I put it in park. But usually works its way back to 2,000 rpm. Should I try to clean the throttle body or change the tps sensor? Any help will be much appreciated.
- What are the chances that Christine Ford's car breaks down while driving from California to Washington DC and it delays the hearing? Another day or two so Kavanaugh can't be confirmed and join the court on October 1 the beginning of the next Supreme Court session?

- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
