1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started?
It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
Why don't you take it into a transmission specialist? Sounds like it needs some TLC
- Why do illegal immigrants like to drive Chevrolets, Fords or GMC trucks? Everyone knows that Toyotas last 6 x longer? Except them? Why? btw, anyone noticed this? you don't hardly ever see them driving Toyotas, mostly Chevrolet or GMC trucks
- Truck won't start after being warm? I have a 2007 Ford F450 truck that runs well, and starts up when it is cold. But after run it until its gets warmed up I turn it off and try re starting it and it refuses to start up again afterwards. Anyone know what the problem is? - My 2000 Ford Taurus won't shift into fourth gear is it ok on a 700 mile round trip drive? I have a 2000 ford Taurus and it doesn't shift into fourth gear anymore. Its been that way for 2 years. It runs fine just doesn't shift into fourth gear and the transmission light does come on after a while of driving it. I was wondering if it would be ok to take it on a 700 mile round trip drive? I know its not good for it I just need to know if I'm going to be stranded on the highway somewhere because my trans went out.
- I have a 2007 Ford Five hundred that when I shift when it's off it moves. But when I turn the car on & shift it won't move It's a TBS transmission. It's not making any noise either. I was told it could be computer on the transmission?
