Having problems with my breaks on my 1996 ford f150?
I have tried to find out what is wrong with it and I have tried every I can thank of. I can't get my bleeder valevs to open with out them breaking them off what do I need to do about this.
Fit new bleeder valves. Unless you can bleed the brakes properly you will always have problems with them and will be driving a potential death trap.
Try bleeding the brakes from the caliper hose instead.
A couple things you should know about bleeder screws. If it snaps off or strips the caliper has to be replaced. Having said that, spray some P.B. Blaster (Walmart) on the threads, let it sit. Only use a 6 point socket or a 6 point box-end wrench or a special bleeder screw wrench which is a 6 pt box-end with a better angle to get at the screw better. Go slow. If it starts to move, re-tighten, then loosen, back & forth until its free.
- My '06 Ford Taurus is having what i'm assuming transmission problems, any ideas? The other day while attempting to back up a small slope, my engine revved up and a message came on the info area of my dash saying to check the transmission. I turned off the car, turned it on and the check engine light was on. I go home and check the trans fluid and it's full. The next day I start my car and the check engine light is off, but now my car shakes on heavy acceleration and gear changes. I'm not a car person. Any ideas?
