Early 2000s models. Ford 150 vs Chevy 1500. Go?

Easy on the ridiculous comments. Reasonable opinions and experiences would be helpful.

Ford F-150

Chevy, Pre 2007 when you can get a Muncie 5 speed on a 295HP 4.8L engine. Add a FlowMaster exhaust and you got a nice ride.Early 2000s models. Ford 150 vs Chevy 1500. Go - 1

I have both a Chevy and A Ford truck (both not garaged & white in color) a 2001 F-150 and I have a 2001 Chevrolet 1500 both with 150k miles on them. Both cars have served me well considering they are both American. Now I'm not going to sugarcoat anything, so I'm going to be pretty straightforward. In my honest opinion, The Chevy 1500 is better in terms of quality and reliability. I have never had it break down on me (regularly serviced) and the only complaint I have about it in terms of quality is the side mirrors had a heating problem. But the seats (cloth and leather) are quite comfortable. For the F-150, it has broken down on me twice (regularly serviced) because of a vaccum leak and overheating. As far as the quality goes, the car paint cracks quickly, the cloth seats are VERY firm (leather is plush though), and the paint on the radio is coming off.

If I were you, I'd find a solid, clean Chevrolet and get it checked by a mechanic before buying
