Dreaded wet floor pan in Ford F-150?
The passenger side carpet in my Ford F-150 is wet. I know that is a horrible thing because it could be the heater core. But it smells like mildew not coolant, and I have only lost a quart of coolant in the past 2 years. I drive 40,000 miles a year so that's expected. I haven't found any problems online with the 04-14 generation of f150 relating to the the heater core. And I still have hot air, I was reading and saw that the ac condenser can get clogged and cause a problem. Is this the case? Or is it a heater?
If you've been running the air conditioning a lot and you live in a humid climate, then it's probably the AC condenser. The drain is blocked and the condensate is leaking out of the heater box.
Look under the car to find the drain hose. It should be a small diameter rubber hose hanging down from the passenger side firewall. Use a piece of stiff wire to push up inside the hose and clear the blockage. You may have to do this several times.
The AC condenser won't get "clogged" (well it can, but not like this!).
The drain will clog easily. Read this: http://www.f150forum.com/f4/ac-drain-how-do-you-check-drainage-5985/
Hole underneath? Possible bad gasket on high mount rear brake light? (Water runs down)
- Why did Christine Ford not change her wet swimsuit before coming to the party? She said that she had been swimming and practicing her dives at the pool when the invite to the party came, and so she had her one-piece swimsuit on under her clothes. But why she didn't change her wet swimsuit into her dry underwear after swimming? Did she go to the pool in a swimsuit? Did she wear her clothes on a wet swimsuit?
- Does the oil pan have to be removed to change the rear main seal on a ford 3.0L V6 in a 2000 ford ranger? I have the engine removed from the truck and was swaping in a salvaged engine that all checks out good except for a slight leaking rear main seal. So, after inspecting the rear main seal, it appears as though a could just slide it out and a new one in. Does the oil pan need to be removed? Or can I just carefully remove the old seal and clean the surfaces good and install a new one?
- 2000 Ford ranger pickup- wet floorboards? I have a 2000 Ford ranger that has soaked floorboards after it rains. It is not the heater core, as I don't smell antifreeze, it's not loosing coolant, and it only happens after a rain. Everything appears to be sealing properly, but I know something is not. Any ideas?
