Added (1). Are 2000-2006 ford f150 reliable? If they have around 120,000!miles are they safe to buy? What's the ideal amount of money to spend on a truck like that? What are other recommendations of trucks?

The largest issue will be rust on subframe so have it checked out. The engines and trans will last 300k if you use Mobil One 0W-30 oil and no cheap wax based oils. I like them for ride quality. Bye now. Use IRIDOUM PLUGS from Bosch of Den do to get the most mileage and power.

The mileage isn't a big deal.

Yes, they're good trucks. The 04-08 v8s have issues with spark plug removal so you'll need to be careful (back out 1/4 turn and spray in carb cleaner, then work back and forth) or have ford do it, in case any plugs snap off they can use special tools to extract them.

'00-'02 had trouble with sparl plug ejections due to 4 threads holding the plugs. AS mentioned, '03-'08's have 8 threads per plug and they will sometimes seize. 2004 was the first year of variable vlave timing and the cam phasers are sensitive to sludge if maintenance has been spotty. Most all these years are plagued with a problematic plastic blend door hinge that leaves your A/C working only on MAX and blowing thru the defroster vents

  • Is it safe to buy a ford with 150,000 miles? I'm in the market for my first car and I found a 2012 Ford Focus with 150,000 miles for $5000. The owner says they've never had any problems with it. Is it a good idea to buy a ford with 150,000 miles? Am I going to have to spend a lot on repairs? How much longer is it going to last?
  • Do you think buying a 2000 ford focus with 161,000 miles a good car purchase? For 1,000? I'm wondering if anyone will recommend, a 2000 ford focuse with 161,000 mileage as my first car, I recently got my drivers permit I want a car to practice my driving skills and I stubbled into the 2000 ford focus.
  • Safe to buy a truck with high miles and repair it? I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to buy a 2007 ford f150 with 233,000 miles for only $6,000 and just save up enough money for a new engine ($3,000-4,000 more dollars) when it goes out and have a pretty new truck with a new engine. It's a very clean truck in EXCELLENT condition, it just has a lot of miles. Or is this just a really bad idea? I attached a picture of the truck.
  • Is a 2006 Ford F150 with 230,000 miles safe to buy? There's a used 2006 Ford F150 XLT crew cab with a 5.4 V8 engine for sale with 230,000 miles. It costs $6,600 and was a gas company truck. Is it safe to buy? And if so is the price good for it?
