Is a 2006 Ford F150 with 230,000 miles safe to buy?
There's a used 2006 Ford F150 XLT crew cab with a 5.4 V8 engine for sale with 230,000 miles. It costs $6,600 and was a gas company truck. Is it safe to buy? And if so is the price good for it?
Nothing with 230k is "safe" because a major repair like a motor or transmission would cost $3-4k or so.
I woudnt pay $6600 for anything with 230k.
I once paid $4000 for a 200k mile late model camry when I was a curbstone car dealer. Took me about 4 months to sell it and I came down to $3995 so I broke even essentially and learned a lesson. It was a supernice car. Priced below book value but I just couldnt sell it.
Never paid that much for that many miles again.
TOO HIGH mileage, and get a FULL inspection at FORD over it! The FORD engines last a LONG LONG time and are made VERY well! The 5.4 may have a PLUG issues that is better left at the FORD DEALER to make THEM responsible for any work done! I WOULD BUY IT< but not for THAT price!
Never buy a company sold vehicle. Those things are used and abused like crazy. It is very seldom you find one that is in good condition that wasn't driving like a NASCAR.
No way too many miles
Not that price and mileage.
- Is 121,000 miles good for a ford mustang that was made in 2006? I'm looking for a used car and was wondering if this is decent just to get me from university and back (home) i live around an hour away.
- Is it safe to buy a ford with 150,000 miles? I'm in the market for my first car and I found a 2012 Ford Focus with 150,000 miles for $5000. The owner says they've never had any problems with it. Is it a good idea to buy a ford with 150,000 miles? Am I going to have to spend a lot on repairs? How much longer is it going to last?
- Do you think buying a 2000 ford focus with 161,000 miles a good car purchase? For 1,000? I'm wondering if anyone will recommend, a 2000 ford focuse with 161,000 mileage as my first car, I recently got my drivers permit I want a car to practice my driving skills and I stubbled into the 2000 ford focus.
- 2006 Ford Focus with 147k miles or 2005 Hyundai Elantra with 100k miles? Looking for a car for a student, I've received 2 offers, a 2006 Ford Focus for $4000 cash or a 2005 Hyundai Elantra for $4900 with $2000 down and the rest financed. Which would be a better deal? Go with the payment plan or scrap up all my cash? Both cars have been well maintained but can someone who knows cars tell me which would last longer?
