Is the oil pump driven off the bottom of the distributor? Turn it to line it up? A 4.9 would be a 302 (small v8) in my country never seen a ford 6 that big

While wiggling the distributor bump the motor over with the starter. It should drop down on the oil pump drive shaft. Make sure you return to TDC and verify base timing before you trying to start the engine.

Hi it suggests some thing is missing or you have the wrong distributor.

This is common where lower end of distributor has to align with driving dog/peg /gear. Often when we have it 180 degrees out of line or we have something incorrect. A workshop manual. Handbook or even possibly a U tike video would assist here. E.g. Try a web search 'how to refit distributor to…' etc or even your cars marque club and forums .eg fast ford. Petrol heads. Etc
