What is this rumbling sound I hear in my new Ford Explorer? - 1
It's the engine.
We just purchased a new 2016 Ford Explorer, love it!
BUT, there's a hum, or rumbling that we can't quite place.
It isn't vibration, its a humming that you hurts our ears after awhile. We only hear it when idling in drive, or when parked or in Neutral. If we park the car, and slightly press on the gas, the humming goes away. So when were injecting fuel, there's no weird humming, but as soon as we stop, after about 3 second the low hum is back.
Could it be the idle sensor, or the air intake sensor or something?
I read a lot about people having this issue, and the dealerships sending them home empty handed. I'd like to go in with ammo, because I don't think my car should give me a headache when idling.
Its new take it back to the dealer its under warrenty won't cost you a thing and if you don't like the dealer you bought it from you can take it to any ford dealer ask them to check for a tsb on the problem technical service bulliten
- I have a 2000 Ford Windstar that won't start. When I turn the key all I hear is a clunk noise? Battery good, starter good, cables good, fuel system good. No indication before hand that anything was going bad. One morning just went to start and NOTHING.

- I hear air blowing out of my air intake, when I trie to start my 96 Ford F-150? Me and a friend recently replaced the head on my 96 Ford F-150, straight 6. The old head cracked cause it ran hot. When we trie to start it, it sounds good like its about to start but stops when air blows out of the air intake. The distributer was not removed and the plug wires and spark plugs are right, baterey is good. What did we do wrong? Why will it not start?
- Installing new radio in 1996 Ford with premium sound system? I'm trying to install a new radio in a 1996 ford explorer with a premium sound system (with two wire harnesses behind radio. One for power and one to the amp/speakers). The amp/speaker harness has 16 wires. I'm only finding stuff online for 8 wire ones. I'm able to get the new radio to power on but no sound gets to the speakers. I have the harnesses and a speaker level converter box to compensate for the amp.
