Is it worth getting my windshield replaced if I'm selling my vehicle?

The crack is large enough that it has to be repaired by replacing the entire windshield.

2000 Ford Explorer with 160k miles.

I'm not buying a vehicle with a cracked windshield… Unless you're selling it for real cheap, like 500 bucks.

If selling or trading it in at a dealership, you are better off letting them make the repair. It will cost them less than it will cost you.

If attempting to sell to a private buyer, the windshield will turn a lot of buyers off, so replacing it yourself is a good move.

You could get a quote to see if a dealer would value it more or not.

Sell it "as is ".

With low priced cars, its probably not worth doing. My car had a small crack when I bought it 8 years ago, now its very long but its below eye level so it doesn't affect my vision, it just looks bad. But, its a cheap car. And Id rather it look bad than spend $150-200+ to replace it.

It might have been repairable when it was only 8-9 inches long. Not anymore.

People looking for low end cars would rather have a $200 lower price point than a new windshield.

On a $10,000 car, different story.

Prices can vary… A LOT.

  • What are my chances of getting a loan from Ford for a 60K vehicle (600 credit score) and I make 98K a year? I have two credit cards both 10% utilization, and two loans approx 20K all together with payments at 350 each, rent is 600 a month and that is all I pay.
  • Would this car be worth getting? I found a Ford Taurus 2004 SEL with 57,000 miles for $5822. There are no problems with this car and it drove pretty nice. I don't really know too much about cars and this will be my first car. Do you guys think that the taurus is worth the price? Forgot to mention that it also has leather seats.
  • 2005 Bmw 745i worth getting? There's a 2005 Bmw 745i for sale at a dealership for 11k. Its a V8 engine and wastes a lot of gas I assume. I need a car for me and my girlfriend and my baby boy since I just sold my old rusty 1992 Ford Taurus. The car has more than 100,000 miles on it. I'm not looking into leasing a newer model car because I do not want to pay a lot of money. So my question is, if you were in my situation would you lease it? And how much would you put down for a deposit?
  • Is a face lift for a vehicle a new generation for a vehicle? I heard that in 1989 Ford Ranger received a facelift but was a new generation or just a minor update that did not change the complete model of the vehicle?
