Explorer blew radiator hose soaks engine. Now o/d light is on and transmission shifts wrong?

My 2003 ford explorer xlt automatic 4lt 4dr 4x4 blew a radiator hose anddoing 70 mph and soaked my whole truck. After i fixed it my o/d light is on and it won't shift right. Tranny shop says it is bad. Could something have gotten soaked and needs dried out? If so what?

Wiring harness might be soaked. The other thing is the transmission is cooled by the radiator if you drove it for a period of time and didn't notice it was over heating till that hose blew you might of done internal damage. The light on means a code auto zone will scan the code for nothing. Find local shop at ATRA.COM for more help

I wouldn't trust an auto store to try and read transmission codes. They only have OBD II code readers. Either take a chance cleaning the engine compartment with a pressure cleaner at a do it yourself car wash and blow the wiring off with compressed air or take it to a mechanic to clean the mess. You can disconnect the battery cables and hold them together to discharge any stray electricity that may have caused the trouble once the motor is cleaned off. Your vehicle is in fail safe mode and that will reset it once the antifreeze is cleaned up if there's no other fault. Be careful not to directly spray the coils or distributor if there's one.
