I took my car throughout car wash and water filled up the left headlight and blew the bulbs! What caused this?

My car is a 2006 Ford Freestyle and I've had it for a few years now. Do I have to take off the whole assembly or can I just take the headlight out and fix it?

Your lights were most likely coming loose or weren't in all the way. This is very common and happens frequently. Just take out the cover from the lights and dry it out. Make sure your car is off and be careful to try and not get shocked. After you are positive the cover and the lights are dry put the cover back on and check to make sure if it's in place correctly. If you continue to have problems take it to a mechanic or the car dealership. Also carefully make sure the wires haven't been damage by water

Your headlight has a glue on plastic face (cover) its no longer glued all the way glue it or get it glued

You need the complete assembly. Try an auto recycler for used parts.
