Blew my tire, now it's facing a different direction than other ones?
So, a couple of my tires have been leaking since I got the car. Its a 2008 Ford Focus. I ran over a pretty hefty curb. My tire blew. My boyfriend went to put the spare on, wasn't one in my trunk, So he grabbed his. After finally getting the car lifted, he was having a really hard time getting the nuts off. Then he realized the tire was turned. Not a lot. But my other front tire was facing straight. So what could this be? He thinks it's the steering rod.
Check your tie rod ends.
It can be dangerous to have one of them go out.
Have your entire front suspension gone over by a mechanic.
Also have it aligned
Yeah. You probably bent the steering rod that's coming out of the ract & pinion.
I'm not sure about the Focus, but you may be able to just replace the arm and not the whole ract, which gets expensive.
Also, check for a bent lower control arm.
Also, also, check to make sure you didn't crack the oil pan.
Stay away from curbs. They are bad ju-ju.
- Why do car companies sell in different countries under different names? Why are companies like Chevrolet selling their cars under names like Holden in Australia? I'm not sure if Chevrolet sells in Australia but I do think they do. If they already sell in Australia, what's the point of selling the same thing under Holden? Another example is some Ford cars are sold under Lincoln, and Chevrolet sells the same thing under GMC. Buick and Opel? What's with this?
- My 216/60R16 tire blew and my neighbor offered me 205/60R16, will they fit? My tire blew on my 02 ford taurus, and my neighbor came to take a look at it and said that he has 205/60R16's in storage and he will give me all 4 winter tires for 100$ if they will fit my car. Can they be fit onto my car? Please help as soon as possible he's waiting for an answer.
- Can I swap 15 inch tire an rim with a 16 inch tire an rim? The rims an tires are off a dodge van, they are 5 hole rims, the car I want to put them on is a ford taurus with a 16 inch tire on it.
- Do ford mustangs have tighter steering than other cars? I'm getting a 2000 ford mustang, my other car went and this one is in great shape. The steering is just tighter than any other vehicle I had, is that because it's a performance vehicle or something? It drives fine I just wasn't used to that. I barely even have to turn the wheel to take a turn, it's so sensitive too.
