My 216/60R16 tire blew and my neighbor offered me 205/60R16, will they fit?

My tire blew on my 02 ford taurus, and my neighbor came to take a look at it and said that he has 205/60R16's in storage and he will give me all 4 winter tires for 100$ if they will fit my car. Can they be fit onto my car? Please help as soon as possible he's waiting for an answer.

They will fit.a bit narrower

That is a bit 'smaller' tire, which may affect how the vehicle handles & brakes. Plus, tires age even when not on a car, so the ones in storage might not hold-up for long. For a temporary spare tire, the slightly smaller tire will work, but I wouldn't get all of them.

205/60R16 sized tires will "fit" but should only be used if their load index and speed rating are equal to, or greater than, your original equipment 215/60R16 sized tires.

No such thing as a 216/60R16.

Yes, it will fit.

Thank you for all your answer! @rick, i think if i got all 4 it would even out the handling, i have one odd sized front tire which does affect braking and steering, but my uncle said if i had both tires same size in the front then it wouldnt affect the steering or braking. I have no other option, and 100$ for 4 tires… It's a steal for me.

Fit yes - be safe, no. Probably invalidate your insurance too

Yes, 205/60/16 will fit the car but it will look small. Your load rating will go down too(amount of weight you can safely put into the vehicle, people, gear, stuff etc.)

  • There's neighbor's Ford car I'm attempting to help push out a driveway? ~but the BATTERY IS DEAD and will not shift out of park with the key in and brake depressed. There's also a 'Interlock IID anti-DUI breath reader' installed, but feel this is NOT keeping the vehicle from being able to shift out of park, am I right? Is this just and electrical issue? Perhaps a fuse?
  • I think I blew a fuse in my 2002 Taurus. I can't find the fuse and want to know if it sounds like i did? So when changing a Puddle Light in my 2002 Ford Taurus I hit the wire that connected the lighting and lighting case to my mirror. Something sparked and my interior lighting, glove box lighting, and mirror lighting is not working. Is this something as simple as a fuse?
  • Can I swap 15 inch tire an rim with a 16 inch tire an rim? The rims an tires are off a dodge van, they are 5 hole rims, the car I want to put them on is a ford taurus with a 16 inch tire on it.
  • Offered to advertise on my box truck? I found a company that offers to pay me around 500 bucks a month to cover up my box truck with an advertisement. Is this a good offer considering that I have this truck traveling along the i-5 corridor every week going through major cities and clocking around 2000 miles a week. Also is it possible to get a direct contract with pepsi, Nike, Coca cola, etc for them to advertise? Any ideas? I own a 16ft Ford E350 previous budget truck.
