Buying a Car with an out of state title?
I recently found a cheap ford explorer but the owner told me that it has an Illinois title. Would I have a hard time transferring the title over we live in Texas.
No not a problem…
As long as the registered owner, the one on the title, signs it over to you, no problem.
No. Problem. It makes absolutely no difference which state issued a title. The procedure is the same.
- How to get rid of my car without a title, but with the registration in my name? I have a 1998 Ford Taurus. The whole purchase in 2006 was a little shady, and I never acquired the title. Furthermore, the title has a lien on it. I bought it off the street from some guy and I never got the title from him (What was I thinking, yes I know). Long story short, no one has ever claimed it since 2006, I've had it since, and I want to get absolutely rid of it now, and I don't know what to do. Any ideas?
- Used car dealership doesn't have title there, weird? As a girl, I'm trying to be super paranoid about not being taken average of. I'm looking at a used Ford focus, after.test drive etc, he assured me its a clean non salvage title. I asked if I could see the title to be sure if this. He said he.doesn't have it, some other boss or something does and I have to have a level of trust with him. Do people not normally check the title before buying?
- Registering a car with NO title in Maryland? Me and some friends started a car club at our school, and an older man donated his old 1980 Ford Fiesta "s" that was sitting for years. He lost the title, but provided us with a bill of sale. How does one go about registering such a vehicle?
- In the state of texas, does my 1984 ford f150 need catalytic converters? I have heard that year was the deadline and I heard it was the starting year and that some inspection places believe that 1984 doesn't need them and others believe it does.
