99 ford explorer sport, won't start?

Has good spark and i have fuel past the filter. Any suggestions what to try next.

Spark, fuel, compression, and timing. If your certain your spark is good and you have good fuel pressure to the rails then I would check the compression on each cylinder. I don't know your engine so I can't tell you the proper PSI you should be getting. I doubt it would be compression though because all cylinders would have to very low to keep it from starting. Just one low cylinder would still let it start and it would just miss badly.

You said you have good spark. Where did you determine this? I would pull each plug and inspect it. Get a test light and put that into the plug boot to make sure it is firing. If it is and plug is good then you know for sure your spark is working. You also said you had fuel pas the filter. What PSI did you get at the fuel rails? With a V6 should get 30-65 psi and with a V8 you should get 40-65 psi.

  • Why did my car start and die when put into gear? Now it won't start at all? It's a cold winter day (below zero) Car started right up! I let it run for about 2 minutes, I put it in gear and it just died. I figured it's cold out, not real surprising, but when I tried to start it again, it won't start!   • Help MY 2000 FORD EXPLORER WON't START? It was driving fine until I got to this hotel and tried to park it then putting it in park it just died no lights or nothing would come on. Then we tried to jump it and before we put the cables on the lights came on then went back out. I didn't hear anything when I tried to start it. Then I left it sitting for a hour or so and then all lights came on but I could not get the key to turn. My gear shift is off balance some one please help me.
