1992 Ford Explorer Transmission Problems?
My 1992 Ford Explorer (automatic) is having an issue, when you first start to press on the accelerator it revs up real high, and then it kicks and the gears catch and start moving, it'll start off moving a little bit, but really slowly, has anyone else had this problem before? Any advice? It's not slipping.
If low on fluid then that will give you this problem refill and find leak. If full then a problem with forward frictions meaning rebuilt. Find local shop at ATRA.COM for road test to determine the problem
Is the Fluid full?
Torque converter… You'l have to take it to the transmission shop.
- Will a Ford Explorer transmission exchange for a ranger transmission? I have a 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a 4.0 engine. The truck needs a new transmission and I was wondering if a transmission from a 2002 ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 will bolt up to the explorers.
- Shifting problems and intake problems? I drive a 1997 ford ranger with a 2.3l automatic. I have recently experienced a hard shifting in my truck even when I'm not on the gas it has problems shifting. And I cleaned my air filter and filter hose that goes to my throttle body and there was transmission fluid in the hose. What can be causing this and how can I fix it or how much will it cost roughly?
- Would I have to lift the engine out of a 1992 Ford Explorer to replace the head gaskets? My dad gave me his car and said if i could fix i can have it. He blew the head gasket the estiment i got to fix it, is over 1,000 i'm wondering if i have to lift out the engine to change the gaskets because if not then i can just do myself.
