Would I have to lift the engine out of a 1992 Ford Explorer to replace the head gaskets?
My dad gave me his car and said if i could fix i can have it. He blew the head gasket the estiment i got to fix it, is over 1,000 i'm wondering if i have to lift out the engine to change the gaskets because if not then i can just do myself.
The engine does not have to come out to replace head gaskets. But if you have to ask that question, don't attempt the job yourself. Find a Youtube video on the subject and see what's involved.
No need. FYI, you can't re-use the head bolts. New one will be needed. Check condition of the head ie cracked. Otherwise wasting your time putting back a busted head.
The engine stays put to replace the head gaskets.
Do some research, take your time, you'll learn a thing or three. Maybe four.
You probably don't NEED to pull the engine just to replace head gaskets, BUT it would be much easier to work on if you did. While you have the heads off, you might want to have the valves done too. May save time and money later on.
- Replaced cylinder heads and head gaskets, but car is still overheating? 97 Ford Taurus, replaced the cylinder head and head gaskets. Car started fine and we let it run for a while before taking it out for a test drive. After about ten minutes the car started to overheat again, coolant came out and steam came from under hood. We also replaced the thermostat. What other possibilities are there?

- How much should I spend on a lift kit body lift and mud wheels and tires? I want to go mudding how high should I lifted it and what would I need also how much would it all be 2006 ford f150 xlt
- I have a 2000 Ford F-150 XLT 5.4L and I have air lift airbags in the rear. I fill them up to 50-55psi? I put about 3,360lbs-3,800lbs in the bed sometimes. But very very little and very short distances. Just a question when ever the load is loaded the airbags squash down. How do they do that? Like where does the air go? They turn small. And when the load is off they go back. I'not just afraid they will pop or something.
