Ford explorer 1992 4wd transmission?
It was going through fluid like it had a leak no sign now it only wants to drive in reverse won't go in gear. It's holding fluid now but won't go in gear?
Make sure you're checking the fluid properly. Get the transmission warmed up, run through the gears (10 seconds in each position) leave it idling in park, make sure the level is at (or less) than the MAX mark.
- Will a Ford Explorer transmission exchange for a ranger transmission? I have a 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a 4.0 engine. The truck needs a new transmission and I was wondering if a transmission from a 2002 ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 will bolt up to the explorers.
- Would I have to lift the engine out of a 1992 Ford Explorer to replace the head gaskets? My dad gave me his car and said if i could fix i can have it. He blew the head gasket the estiment i got to fix it, is over 1,000 i'm wondering if i have to lift out the engine to change the gaskets because if not then i can just do myself.
- Can i put a compressor from a 1995 ford explorer on a 1992 ford explorer? Imy compressor is out of Freon, and I was told you can't use the 134a in it. Is there another that will work?
- Can I disable the 4wd on a 95 Ford Explorer? The transfer case is automatically switching in and out. Will even go to 4 lo while driving at high speedsand the switch is in 2wd. Can I disable this so it won't do that.
