03 ford explorer sport xlt 4.0 v6 timing chain tensioner bolt blocked by white plastic piece?
I pulled the upper/right side timing chain tensioner bolt and put a new one in… No issue… But the chain rattled worse then before… The new bolt is the same except the threading is slightly shorter.so may be the wrong tensioner… But the issue is that now i took the new one back out to put the old one back in and it won't go back in… I looked inside the bold hole and now there's a piece of white plastic blocking the hole halfway in… Its rounded and has some spring to it is if the bolt is supposed to push it up when inserted but i never saw that piece hang down before and nothing i can find even mentions or shows any white plastic piece… It make be a big piece of the timing tensioner plates broken off but those should be black… And the only way to find out what it is is to pull the engine and break it down to see… Which i don't want to do if its something simple… But as of right now i can't get the bolt back in…
Hkhkjhk
I got the bolt back in but the issue is i never noticed this the first time I swapped the bolt… Maybe it was just stuck open… But it does spring out of the way when you put the bolt in… But it took alot of pressure to get the bolt back in… Is that piece supposed to be there or is this an issue
I don't have a clue why people **** with their motors when they have no clue what they are doing. Go find a mechanic and tow the mess over to them.
- Tstat Ford 94 Mustang: broken bolt, drilled new hole for a bolt? Replacing thermostat in my car when the bolt broke leading us to need to drill a new place for another bolt right next to the old one. Will drilling this and placing a new bolt, hold the thermostat in place and work to keep my car from over heating? I have no idea if doing this will work…

- Is 2600 dollars a fair price in ford for a broken rear timing chain cassette on a 2006 explorer? I took my explorer to ford and they diagnosed that the noice I been asking about is coming from a the rear timing chain cassette. So they have to pull the motor out and service the broken cassette. My problem is I'm getting charged 600 bucks for parts and I found in ford parts the timing chain kit is only 255.33 plus tax I know a couple of gaskets need to be put on but I have doubts that is 600 dollars worth in parts
