How would I go about getting more performance out of my 2008 Saturn Vue?
Thus far I've had a 302 horsepower 5.4 liter Ford Expedition, a 188 horsepower 2.7 liter Suzuki Grand Vitara, and now a positively pathetic 215 horsepower 3.5 liter Saturn Vue (with the added insult that the 3.6 liter of my car's model year had 257 horsepower). Put simply, I'm sick of having a car with an engine that's roundly outperformed by every other engine on the road, including smaller (but still naturally aspirated) ones, and I've wanted to get experience working on cars anyway.
How should I go about getting some more oomph out of my Vue XE? I've been told that retuning it to run on premium gas would help power AND fuel economy (I currently get 16mpg), but I haven't a clue as to what kind of tuner to get for that, or if I'd be better off with some other performance enhancer.
I'm not asking for a miracle. Matching a 2015 Equinox's/Terrain's 301 horsepower isn't on my radar, let alone matching the output of tuned Equinoxes. I'd be happy with just 240 or 250 horsepower, preferably with better mileage than a 3/4 ton pickup truck.
They have a supercharger kit for it. May cost about half the value of the Vue tho…
Edit: $4000 for 50 hp.
Unless you turbo/supercharge it you're not going to increase power enough to make any real difference.
- What are some good things to do to my 2007 Ford V6 Mustang to get some more power and performance? I want to get more power and better performance out of my V6 and no I don't want to trade up for a V8. I inherited this car and its paid off and only has 11,000 miles on it. Not to mention sentimental value so please leave your hate for V6s for someone else. I just want to know some cost effective ways to get more out of my stang. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
- Is Saturn considered import or domestic? I'm wondering whether a Saturn car/truck/etc is considered an imported vehicle (not build in North America, such as Mazda, VW, Honda, etc.) or a domestic one (built in North America, such as Ford, Chev, Dodge, etc.). I'm pretty sure it is domestic, but just checking to be sure.
- I'm getting my cdl next year, is it better to have experience driving a bigger vehicle before i get my cdl? I'm getting my class a cdl? I'm going to get a job driving a ford f450 dump truck hauling an excavator on a 20ft equipment trailer… I believe that if i have experience driving a bigger vehicle w/ or w/o a trailer will help, is this true
- How to make my '67 ford 352 v8 rumble more and idle more rough? So I have flowmaster super 10's on it, I've lowered the idle to about 650-700 rpm. It just doesn't sound like I want it to. I want it I sound more drag car like. More like a race engine. Is there anything I can do?
