Is Saturn considered import or domestic?

I'm wondering whether a Saturn car/truck/etc is considered an imported vehicle (not build in North America, such as Mazda, VW, Honda, etc.) or a domestic one (built in North America, such as Ford, Chev, Dodge, etc.). I'm pretty sure it is domestic, but just checking to be sure.

Saturn was a US based company, a division of General Motors, and most of it's cars where built in the US. But some where re-badged GM products from other markets. Not sure where the Saturn Astra were built, but it was some place other than the US.

BTW, the distinction is no where near as clear now, as the US based companies now sell a lot of rebadged cars built in other places, and many of the "Foreign" cars are built almost completely in the US. The 5 cars with the most US construction are all Toyota and Honda vehicles this year.

Saturn was a General Motors product. Very much a product of the United States. Saturn was primarily a domestic, but a few badge-engineered Opels were also sold as Saturns (ex. The Astra). Saturn automobiles were made in America, therefore they're considered domestic. Made in Tennessee, USA If you live in the US, then it was a domestic brand. Saturn cars when out of business in Oct. 2009? Their TV ads were to "talk to them about your overdue payments", they will try to fix it because without a car. You would be without a job. That didn't seem to help them as many car buyers took GM loans. You'll still find parts as they are just GM. Body parts may become hard to find. Saturn is an American company, surprisingly. Looking at their vehicles, you'd think they're Japanese or something. I was like you until I owned one, I wasn't sure. I will tell you this, their vehicles are fantastically built, not just one or two models, all of them, they made very good cars… I had a 2005 Aura for a first car… Traded it in with 315,000 miles… Got it with only 48,000. I'm 28 years old and only on my second vehical (2016 Volvo s60 Polestar). I got a little teary eyed saying good bye to her, so many memories, 2 girlfriends, 3 jobs, drifted in it, burnouts, reverse 180s… I miss it just thinking about it.

  • If a car causes another car to swerve and spin-out, is it considered hit-and-run if they leave the scene? On the way to work this morning, I saw a Ford truck cut off a smaller car and the poor car spun out in the rain and ended up facing the opposite direction. This caused the traffic to stop because it looked like the vehicle wouldn't start. The ford truck most likely knew he did that but kept going, instead of stopping. He didn't hit the car or any cars at all during the time. If he didn't actually hit anything, is it still considered hit and run? Should he have stopped?
  • What is considered an upgrade for my car stereo? I have a 2005 Ford Focus SES. It came with all stock audio systems. I already installed a new Pioneer bluetooth double din receiver in the car, but want a little more bass and volume. I don't want to go as far as a sub, but perhaps just some bigger nicer speakers than stock. I can't find what the stock speakers are though. What should I look for that would be an upgrade? But not totally crazy or expensive. Just want to replace the 4 in-door speakers.
  • Would you consider the ford focus a muscle car or an import/tuner? My friend and I were arguing about this for a while. He says its a FORD so it has to be a muscle car. I said it has no characteristics of a muscle car.
  • Is the ford explorer SUV considered a low-income car or higher class? When you drive the ford explorer SUV, are you considered lower income with just maybe high school education in people's minds or are you considered upper class with it? Here's the type I'm talking about, Ford explorer V8 XLT. What's your opinion? After giving the opinion on the explorer. Would it be the same for the expedition and the escalade SUVs? Aren't SUVs usually regarded as expensive cars?
