Engine swap 2012 5.4 ford modular?
Another question. I have a 2012 Ford E350 5.4 engine and transmission (van was totaled). I want to put it in another vehicle, but don't want to pay a lot for the new car/truck.
Can I put this engine/tranny into a 1999-2008 crown Victoria?(cut the hood for space)
Can I put this engine/tranny into a 1999 Ford expedition?
my mechanic said, due to the computers and wiring, I have to find a vehicle close to the 2012 year, and 1999 would be too far off?
basically, what would be the easiest, least expensive, swap. I don't want to let this engine/tranny go to waste, it only has 20,000 miles.
It should fit in a Crown Vic and Expedition because it will actually fit in a Mustang. You will have to use the computer and wiring harness that came with it to swap into whichever vehicle you decide to buy.
- 2001 Ford Taurus Engine Swap? I want to put in a new engine I was thinking a 3.8 v6 from a 95 taurus sho but I don't know if it would fit or a 4.6 v8 from a 2001 lincoln continential.
- Possible engine swap from 3.0 to 4.0 on 1994 Ford Ranger XL 4x4 manual? I'm wondering if I can drop a V6 4.0L engine straight into a V6 3.0L Ford Ranger XL? Both are 1994 ford rangers, everything the same as far as model/year just different size engine… And if not, what would need to be converted? I found a 4.0 for $250 with 0 miles so if its as simple as swapping engines/trannys I'm going to go for it… Thanks for help!
- Engine swap for a 2005 3.0 ford ranger possibilities? I really want to add a good chunk of horse power to my ford ranger, and the only way i'm seeing that happen is with a complete engine swap and probably tranny too. What engines will fit without too much hastle? Please keep in mind that the more horses and torque the better.
