Engine swap for a 2005 3.0 ford ranger possibilities?

I really want to add a good chunk of horse power to my ford ranger, and the only way i'm seeing that happen is with a complete engine swap and probably tranny too. What engines will fit without too much hastle? Please keep in mind that the more horses and torque the better.

The 4.0 is a direct swap, no headaches, all factory. Cheaper to sell yours and buy a 4.0 truck, though. The tougher swap is a 5.0 from an Explorer parts truck. The exploere will have every part you need for the swap. All you need is a rusty of smashed V8 Explorer for parts

I think the best option would be that 5.0 or 302. Plentiful lots of parts many kits for whatever tranny you want plenty of people have swapped it so lots of ECU kits think simple here that 302 is a solid motor.

Honestly anything up to Small block V8'sfrom Toyota, Ford, Dodge, and Chevy id personally put a V8 Magnum from a V8 Dodge Dakota in it as well as the Dakota tranny. That would be very cool I personally myself am about to swap my old 2003 6.0L chevy small block in the 2500HD to a DMAX a.k.a Duramax diesel it will be awesome when finished! As will your build!

I don't know about the 2005 Rangers, but some of the Rangers have frames that can twist rather easily. More torque may not be a good idea.
