Light pinkish transmission oil?
I just checked my transmission fluid on my 2002 ford escort zx2 and it came out to look ligh pink, thin, and when I wipe it with a paper towel there's some black dirt that comes with it. I checked it multiple times and it came out to look light pink. What could this be?
Normal. Pretty good for that age car. The black you see is normal wear and tear nothing to worry about For 14 year old ATF, that sounds mighty good. The bit of black dirt is metal dust from normal operation. Dark and burned would be bad. It sounds like the transmission fluid was recently changed. NOTHING is wrong based on your description. As long as the ATF is not brown or black it's usually ok. ATF is either red or pink looking from the factory. If it's never been changed I'd have it drained and filled with new ATF. Don't flush it!
